Being a Light into the World

THE PROJECT

Luminant Cross has a goal of spreading love, compassion, and practical support to individuals and families in need within the local community

The Bible makes it clear that we are called to love our neighbors as ourselves, which includes helping people in whatever capacity we can.

Our hope is to provide direct financial, relational, and spiritual assistance to families all across the United States and other countries who are struggling to make ends meet in whatever small way possible.

Our mission is based on the passage found in Matthew 25:35-40 and our works include:

1. Food Drive and Distribution: Volunteers will collect non-perishable food items from the community and organize them into food baskets. These baskets will be distributed to low-income families, homeless individuals, and elderly residents who struggle to afford nutritious meals.

2. Clothing and Essentials Giveaway: A donation drive for gently used clothing, blankets, and personal care items will be conducted. Volunteers will set up a distribution area where community members in need can choose items that suit their preferences and sizes.

3. Prayer and Encouragement Booth: A designated area will be set up for volunteers to offer prayers and words of encouragement to those who would appreciate spiritual support. This provides an opportunity to connect on a personal level and share the love and hope of Christ.

4. Community Resource Information: Volunteers will have informational materials available about local shelters, counseling services, job training programs, and other resources that can help individuals and families on their journey towards self-sufficiency.

In addition to assisting people physically, our greater goal includes connecting people to a local church.

Isolation and Depression has been increasing. Our goal is to bring people together with love and purpose.

Spiritual Growth: Church communities often provide a space for spiritual development. Regular attendance at services, participating in Bible studies, and engaging in discussions about faith can help individuals deepen their understanding of their beliefs and grow in their relationship with God.
Fellowship and Relationships: Church communities offer opportunities to build meaningful friendships and connections with like-minded individuals. These relationships can provide a sense of belonging and camaraderie, fostering a sense of community and social interaction.
Moral and Ethical Guidance: Church communities often provide a framework for ethical and moral decision-making. Engaging with others who share similar values can help individuals navigate life's challenges while staying aligned with their faith-based principles.

Being part of a church community can provide a sense of purpose and meaning. Engaging in shared activities and contributing to a larger mission can give individuals a sense of fulfillment and direction.
